I was working overtime at a new job and just needed to stop for a second and let myself relax.
What better way to do that than a staycation? My partner and I decided to treat ourselves and book a romantic spot in the Perth CBD for a weekend in September. We settled on booking at the Novotel on Murray Street. It ticked a lot of boxes for us. It had great amenities, location, and close proximity to various restaurants and cafes.

The time of our staycation finally arrived. After our luxurious first night’s stay at the hotel and an indulgent buffet breakfast, we made our way in an Uber to Tara Massage on Stirling Street in Northbridge. It was a short trip through the city and we arrived just before our appointment with enough time to enjoy a warming and fragrant ginger tea. A perfect way to begin the relaxation process!
The staff were so lovely. The lady at the front desk made us feel really welcome and our massage therapists were wonderful. They kindly asked both my partner and me if we had any injuries or points of tension that we would like to be avoided or focused on. I usually carry quite a lot of tension in my lower back so I asked my therapist to pay a decent amount of attention to that area.
The massage went on for an hour and was absolutely divine. The pressure was perfect and my partner said the same. I honestly didn’t want it to end. There was beautiful music playing throughout the room and the stillness around the vicinity added to the atmosphere of calm. It felt light and effortless which is ideal when getting a relaxation massage!
My therapist was sure of her movements and I felt safe in the hands of a professional. Tara Massage employs all of their staff from Thailand so I knew I was getting an authentic Thai-style relaxation massage. My partner and I both felt so calm and serene afterward. It was like walking on air. It felt as though all of our senses had been completely refreshed and replenished. This wonderful massage really set us up to enjoy the remainder of our stay. It was a lovely bonding activity for us to experience together. I would definitely recommend this service to any couple in Perth, whether they be romantic partners, friends, or family as there are so many benefits of a couple’s massage.

The Tara Massage premise was organised, very clean, and smelt of soothing incense. We agreed that we would like to visit again and try out one of the other massage styles they provide.
Tara Massage offers a great range of massages. They include deep tissue, remedial, maintenance, relaxation, pregnancy, sports, reflexology, Thai aromatherapy, and traditional Thai massages. You also have the option to mix and match massage styles, so you could dedicate the first half of your massage to help treat any injuries you might have, and the rest of the time can be used to receive a relaxing massage for example.
The other exciting thing about this Northbridge-based massage studio is that they have a great loyalty program. They reward their clients with 20% off after their fifth visit, and a free 30 minutes of massage after their tenth visit!
